Open Source & Education:
There are many new Open Source Software (OSS) education
programs now available and more being developed.
Below are some links to some great server based educational
software. They are mainly based on the Linux O/S, and are
getting
a terrific amount of support both from community and industry.

Monitors:
Todays
computers generally come with an LCD (liquid crystal display) flat
screen monitor, the TV type monitor is now becoming superseded.
Keyboards:
The keyboard, which
lets you type information into the computer can either be connected by
cable or can be wireless with a limited range (usually 6-10 meters).
Mouses or Mice: The mouse can either be cable or
wireless and allows you to move a pointer or curser
around on the monitor screen. The modern mouse has a laser light
underneath
which tracks your movement and is more precise and doesn't require the
constant cleaning that the older ball type needs.
Typically, a mouse has two buttons (called left and right) with a
central scroll wheel that is used to move the page you are working in
up or down. The mouse and keyboard can be used together to navigate
around the computer desktop.
Some mouse come with extra buttons, like the
Microsoft
Comfort Optical Mouse 3000
which incorporates another button which is used to magnify small areas
of the screen. Very handy for reading some of the fine print found on
some web pages. It is the mouse that I use, as its ergonomic features
really help in reducing pain from prolonged periods of working on the
computer.
