Vista
Microsoft has been a few years in development now and the final product really shows you the depth of the changes once you have spent some time using the operating system in different working environments.
The sidebar in the photo above, shows you one of the exciting new features in Vista. The sidebar contains a group of Gadgets (13 available) which act as a quick change work area. The Gadgets include a Calculator, Clock, CPU Meter, Currency Conversion, Feed Viewer, Feed Watcher, Notes, Number Puzzle, Picture Puzzle, Recycle Bin, Slide Show, Stocks and a Timer.
Expect many hundreds of new Gadgets becoming available over the next few months as developers and enthuisiasts create new ones. The sidebar is easily configured by right clicking and in the open Windows Sidebar Properties box and adjusting its behaviour.
